CAAS Deepens Agricultural Science and Technology Cooperation with Eastern European Countries
From June 4 to 13, a delegation led by Prof. Ye Yujiang, Vice President of CAAS, visited Romania, Bulgaria and Russia to engage with local agricultural research institutions and universities, with the goal of strengthening partnership with Eastern European countries.
The delegation visited the China–Romania Joint Laboratory for Agricultural Cooperation and held academic exchanges with seven institutions, including the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences of Romania, the Agricultural Academy of Bulgaria, and the All-Russian Institute of Plant Protection, etc. The two sides reached consensus on key areas of collaboration, including the joint establishment of laboratories, promotion of technology transfer, and co-training of agricultural science and technology professionals. During the visit, relevant CAAS-affiliated institutes signed Memoranda of Understanding with agricultural research institutions in Bulgaria and Russia.
The delegation also paid working visits to the Chinese embassies in all three countries. This mission consolidated CAAS’s partnership with Eastern European counterparts and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in facility agriculture, apiculture, plant protection, and characteristic agricultural industries.
Officials from the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS, the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning of CAAS, the Institute of Apicultural Research of CAAS, and the Institute of Special Animal and Plant Sciences of CAAS accompanied the delegation.
