Between the 5th and 10th October, 2020, China Global Television Network (CGTN) produced and aired the series FOOD IN AFRICA: Focus on Africa's Food Exports. The program aimed to explore how the African continent can ensure food security in the face of challenges such as population growth, climate change and the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The programme has invited several agricultural and economic experts around the world to share their knowledge and insights.

In the program on October 10th, 2020, Professor Li Xiande from Institute of Agricultural Economics and Development of CAAS and also member of the UN CFS High-Level Panel of Experts, was the guest to introduce to African countries the policy measures implemented by China in rural infrastructure construction, agricultural technology promotion and sustainable agricultural development. Professor Li pointed out that China had invested a large amount of money in rural transport and electricity construction and had forged a partnership for integrated development between urban and rural areas. At the same time, relying on various agricultural applicable technologies, China cultivate high-yielding and high-resistance crops, adopt sustainable farming methods, and strive to increase farmers' income and food production. Professor Li Xiande has provided "Chinese experience" worthy of reference for African countries to better tap agricultural potential and ensure food security.
