Vietnamese Delegation Visited the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers
On October 17, accompanied by Yu Qian, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of CAAS, Nguyen Huu Hoai Phu, Deputy Directorof the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, and Pham Dinh Dung, Head of Board, High-tech Agricultural Park Management Board, led an 11-member Vietnamese delegation to visit the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IVF-CAAS). Shengping Zhang, deputy director general of the IVF-CAAS, Lei Li, deputy division chief of the Scientific Research Office, and Shuhua Yang, dean of the Flower Research Department, attended the event.
The delegation visited the flower tissue culture roomand Dr. RuidongJia introduced the tissue culture rapid propagation technology and breeding of Phalaenopsis and P aphiopedilum .The delegation showed strong interest in tissue culture technology.
After the visit, the two sides held a seminar. Deputy Director General Yu Qian delivered a welcome speech.Dr.Lei Li introduced the achievement of IVF-CAAS and Dr. Shuhua Yang shared the scientific research progress of the flower breeding. The meeting was chaired by DeputyDirector General Shengping Zhang.
Both sides communicate with each other sufficiently. Vietnam appreciated the achievements of IVF made in the field of vegetables and flowersand looked forward to in-depth cooperation in the application of tissue culture technology, as well as the demonstration and promotion of new varieties. Both sides will strive to promote communication and cooperation in various aspects and jointly promote the development of agricultural science and technology, especially in the field of flowers.
