The Joint Opening Ceremony of China-Aid Training Seminars Held at CAAS
On June 7th, the joint opening ceremony of the two China-aid training seminars, respectively the Seminar on Digital Agriculture and Rural Development, Poverty Reduction and Rural Revitalization Practices for B&R Countries and Seminar on Food Loss Reduction and High Value Utilization of Byproducts in Developing Countries were held at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). The seminars were sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), MOFCOM, co-organized by the Agricultural Information Institute of CAAS and the Center for International Agricultural Research of CAAS, and supported by the Institute of Food Science and Technology of CAAS. Mr. Chen Runyun, Vice President of AIBO, and Dr. Jin Ke, Director General of Department of International Cooperation of CAAS, attended and delivered remarks. Representatives from the Republic of Sierra Leone Embassy to China and representatives of participating officials from Sierra Leone and Thailand also addressed at the ceremony.
The 11-days seminars have invited a total of 43 foreign officials, researchers, and enterprise representatives in agriculture from 14 countries, aiming to familiarize the participants with current status and trends of China's digital agriculture and rural development, as well as the practices and experiences in poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Knowledge exchange on China's advanced technological achievements and management experiences in areas such as reducing food loss, ensuring food quality and safety, maintaining nutritional value, modernizing storage and logistics, monitoring and early warning systems, processing and value-added techniques as well as comprehensive utilization will also be conducted during the seminar.
